Help with G16 carb...
Hello all,
I just installed a new carb on my 97 G16 and I am still having issues. First is it is leaking gas and I can not figure out where it is coming from. Almost looks like the actual fuel line where it hits the carb might be the spot but I have a clamp and the connection seems good. Any suggestions of things to check? Next, it is running rough and backfires. The backfires happen consistently when I am cruising, left off the gas and let the cart slow and then hit the gas again. It also happens sometimes just while it is coasting to a stop. I am no expert with this so any help is greatly appreciated. One final thing. Last year I removed the foam filter and still have it out as it does not want to run properly with the foam in. Also, can someone please educate me on 2 parts of the carb. The new carb came with a 90degree brass piece with a short section of clear tubing connected on the top left side of the carb. Is just a breather? Also there is what looks like a spring loaded black plastic adjustment knob on the top of the carb that can only be turned about 1/4 turn. Thanks for the education! Thanks in advance for any help |

Re: Help with G16 carb...
Since I have not had any replies can someone point me in the right direction of an old post on how to properly tune a Yamaha Carb? Or descriptions of the adjustments on the carb? Thanks

Re: Help with G16 carb...
Make sure the bowl is tight, be sure the carb is seated on the engine tight with a new gasket. Check here>http://www.tntgolfcar.com/yamparts.php?diagramid=70

Check bowl gasket. Check also small gasket on nut at the bottom of the bowl.
