it is a 1980 g1....ill look a little closer but there is a red wire were you say the negative is that is cut and taped.. ill go look asap and let you know.....oh by the way thanks for the help I really appreciate it. This is my first cart and dont know a whole lot about them..

The clutches should work about like this with no load:

That is neutral, but a G1 with the tires off ground would be the same.

Thanks for the vid... I think the problem was that the governor butterfly was closed so in return it wasn't producing the power it should have. But the problem at hand now is what is fried from me bumping the hot (red wire) from the stop switch to the gas peddle and grounded it out. Now there is no electrical power when the ignition is on, it wont crank, the reverse horn doesn't sound, nothing. the one fuse is fine but cant find a second

I got power..( electrical).. turns out the small positive wire that is supposed to be hooked to the positive terminal on the battery fell off.. I don't know much about these things but I am learning a whole lot thanks to this site and the guys help on it..Thanks Hopefully tomorrow I can replace the coil and\or run it..
