Hey mike do me a favor look up the thread Yamaha g1 starter generator test and see if that sounds about right.

I just had mine off last year and rebuilt, but I don't know if that looks the same. I can verify by looking tonight and or testing for you. Let me know

mine is coming off this afternoon. We have figured it out the **** starter is spinning the motor the wrong way. So I was gonna use that test to make sure I'm right before I reinstall it. But if you can look at yours and stare and compare it would be helpful curt. I know mike said he was going to help me troubleshoot it tonight if need be. But three pairs of eyes are always better

Like block said; red jumper from F1 to A2. A2 is on alum. end plate. F1 I am guessing is between starter and motor. Cause this is where mine is.

Negative batt cable goes to A1 on aluminum end plate.

Solenoid lead to F2 on leading SIDE of case. Front side of car.

Huh!... Guess the ole man does know what he's talkin about!!

The wires on the side of the starter were reversed. The beast is alive and running. Ok lets see how fast I can walk and kick myself in the a**

OK it's running good except for a pop when I stop it which is probably the carb not closing all of the way.
It doesn't run smoothly at slow speeds. All it does is buck and want to sh** and get. What do I adjust to fix that because I have to slow roll it through the campgrounds

Fantastic news I would think you should really thank your father in law , he was really the one that figured it out with reverse rotation/ gas spitting diagnosses and of course Mike, he never once gave up on the fix. Your right, the other stuff is "cake". Have fun with your new ride bro

My father in law was the second set of eyes I needed for sure I have already called him

Mike is a life saver. He is willing to tear his own cart apart to make sure yours is right. I believe he will be walking me through the rest of this build. I'm sure there will be alot more late night phone calls before it's over. Thanks, brother

Dave I appreciate your help as well because you put me and Mike on the right track to figure this deal out.
