Gas pedal is stuck but works
Ok ever since I bought the 1990 it has slowly been getting stuck more and more.
Even worse now as its been sitting a year or so. I have to push hard to give it gas and pull it back with my hand to stop the throttle. What can I do to make it move freely again? It's not the linkage, but the pedal itself where it mounts to the frame. I'm guessing its rusting or hell I don't know. Theirs no place to lube it. |

BD, been a while. Can you spray some PB in or around the area to loosen it up?

Re: Gas pedal is stuck but works
Man it sure has LH, I've been busy on other projects etc....
What cart or carts ya got now? I probably could spray something on the out side and hope it would penetrate. Also my brake pedal doesn't go all the way back, it keeps the brake lights on. The brake assembly looks like it can come apart compared to the gas pedal mount. Springs are decent unless it lost some of its strength over time. |

I just did one, aluminum and steel don't play well with each other were the steel sleaves go through they oxidize spray them a lot and move them a lot they will loosen up

Re: Gas pedal is stuck but works
Thanks for the pic, I need to get me a manual for my carts.
Ok before I take it apart as the bolts are very rusty looking and aren't going to come off that easy. They may break. Besides wd40, what else to use or what's better? |

Re: Gas pedal is stuck but works
For really rusty stuff, wire brush first then PBBlaster the snot out of it.

Re: Gas pedal is stuck but works
Then the blaster should work, spray it a couple times a day for a few days, and again before actually trying to take the bolts loose. The more soaking time it gets the better.
