Fe 290 upgrades?
Hello I am puting a new piston and rings in my CC fe290 motor because she smoked a bit. Is there anything else I can do to make her run better? Plain the head? Cam? Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Fe 290 upgrades?
I think the head can be milled up to .010. Not sure on how much more.

Re: Fe 290 upgrades?
How much was the rebuilding and where did you buy your parts?
Did it smoke but have good power still and good compression? Mine smokes but has good compression, some say its the oil ring... |

Re: Fe 290 upgrades?
I think the kit runs 250 on eBay. One time .25 wasn't a big enough piston. The cylinders get egg shaped. Now I just buy the .50 over. Sucks though cause it will be the last rebuild you can do. Alot of times though I check the cylinder and if it specs out ok or close I just hone the cyclinder. Your oil rings are bad on yours. Can have 160lbs and smoke like crazy

I'm just honing the cylinder .25 over and puting in new piston and rings and valve stem seals. Around 100 bucks on ebay
