Default 2006 Six Seater Villager Slow

So I just traded my four seat 2002 IQ DS for a Six Seat 2006 Villager (series motor). My cart had a D&D high speed motor and did 28mph. This villager has a stock motor and controller, this cart feels like it is going 10mph max. The Batteries are February of 2013 Trojans the pack across reads 53-54 on the voltage meter. It has a 6' Jake's lift kit and 22' tires.

I say all that to ask are these carts just really slow due to the extra weight and size. I knew that it would go slower but man 10mph is killing me. Does anyone know how fast they normally go with stock motors?

Has anyone added a high speed motor and upgraded controller? If so what brand did you use?

A stock series 6 seater? 10 MPH doesn't sound too out of the question. It's basically a golf car powertrain with a lot of added weight. They were never meant to go fast and it's a good thing because they definitely don't.

I would think that anything that would make a two passenger DS go faster or have more torque would also make a six passenger go faster and have more torque, just not as much.

With all that space for batteries Id be looking at going 100-144 volts. I am envious of the passing carrying and battery space on your cart.

A more reasonable path would be a torque motor on 72 volts. My BBB EZGO limo with 2 D&D 36volt torque motors will do 25 mph on one motor at 72volts and 31 with both motors. If you went 72 volts on a mid range motor you might get 28-30 with a single motor and ok torque.

Upgrade to an AC Drive system. Best money I ever spent on my 6 seat stretch cart.
