thanks guys for all the replies. to answer some of the questions yes I was using a power cord. 12/3 gauge. The wall socket is 100%. this morning I started investigating and found a faulty power plug on the charger. It was old and had a metal shroud on it. I took it apart and think that a strand of wire was touching the metal, but the worst part was that going over the power cord I found several splits and it appeared as if the wires were bare inside the insulation. Going onto the output side of the charger I found the same splits and wire appeared bare. I then dismantled the charger in hopes of replacing both the input and output leads. I had it set on a large board resting on two saw horses. My wife holding it and I am now reassembling it. My wife let go of it I lost control of it .It crashed to the floor gashing my leg open and I walked away not saying a word or I won't get any supper. Just going to buy another charger but not sure what to buy. I was on Scottyb's site and read all the literature about dpi and it clearly says not for onboard computers. I read about the yewwy and It didn't say if it was compatible with obc. I am completely open to suggestions at this point. I need to get a charger as this is my wifes cart. Thanks for the help

You sure went to a lot of trouble to get a new charger. IMHO DPI Gen IV w/o OBC is the way to go.

Well guys that's what happens when you take someone at his word. I Looked at the cart and tried it out and never looked at the charger until I got home. I guarantee you it won't happen again after seeing the disappointment in my wifes eyes.
