Default Electric 2005 club car not going in reverse

My 2005 club car will not go in reverse,it was intermittent and now nothing at all. I am assuming it’s the forward reverse mechanism, but my question is do you have to buy the whole assembly or can you just get the little switches that are on top of the mechanism?

I guess this is a sparky not gas.

What type of drive is this? Series or SepEx?
Does is have a small rocker switch or a larger handle?

The small rocker switch on the SepEx system could be bad or wiring to it.
The larger F/R handle control on a series system could be worn.
Check cable terminals and micro switches.

If I knew how to upload a picture I would. It’s got the big handle where the inside of your legs almost rest. Right by where the charger plugs in.

If it has the FNR lever handle then it is a Series cart. You either have a bad micro-switch or a bad FNR switch.

The first thing I would do is pull all the spade connectors off the MS switches one at a time and then reland them (I have had this be the problem many many times!). Then if still not working check them for correct operation and also look over the FNR switch for burn marks or worn contacts where it shows signs of failing.
