PD3 chargers get hot. Make sure it’s in a well ventilated area.[emoji106][emoji2532]

Go to Walmart and get a small 5 or 6 inch fan and set it behind the charger. Works great.

The PD3s get pretty hot. If it seems to be hotter than usual, remove the cover (after it cools, and make sure its unplugged from both the cart and the wall) and blow out any dust or spider webs with compressed air. Saw one at the golf cart shop once that had a huge clump of dog hair melted to the transformer. How all the hair got in it? no idea.

Another thing that will make it run hotter than normal is declining batteries, or running the batteries down to a very low state of charge. Either one means the charger has to run longer and will have to produce higher current output trying to recharge the batteries.

Brand new Us Batteries. don't run down past 48.4 volts. Tahoe Dawg was saying on another post that the original OBC don't charge the us batteries correctly.. I am wondering if that is part of reason? How long should it run for 48 volt when I run down to 48.4 volts on read out?

That is different for any set of batteries. It is all dependent upon age, capacity, cable condition, etc.

48.4 volts is 50% so you do not want to go below that very often as it will take life away from your lead acid pack....
