Default I would like to beat a dead horse please......

I have a late 2003. Club car DS 48v. Just ordered a Lester Summit ll charger with Bluetooth for it. My charge receptacle has three wires on the back side. Red, black, and thin grey with a yellow cover over a inline fuse. That's it. If I take the black wire from the back of the receptacle and run it directly to the negative side of the pack and leave the red going to the positive side,-have I effectively bypassed the OBC? I am no electrical genius..... but what I have at that point is a direct connection from the batteries to the charger and it is up to the charger to manage the cycle. If this is the case and it is ok........what the heck do I do with the grey wire with the inline fuse? Thanks in advance
