Over the years I've had a couple that just would NOT come off. The shaft starts to rust and swells to bigger than the hole in the handle. Handles are relatively cheap and not really worth the hours of hassle to fight with them. I keep a couple spares around the shop now, just in case.

Yea it’s amazing how stuck that booger is, I took the screw all the way out so I don’t think it’s that. As far as replacing the switch my initial reasoning for taking it off was to clean up the connections a bit with new cable lugs and maybe clean up the contacts a bit. As far as working the switch correctly puts the cart in forward/r/n. I don’t know a lot about golf carts I’m kinda learning as I go thanks to this forum and YouTube. Is the switch something that I should leave as longs as it works? I know it looks kinda rough but I’m not sure if it’s a “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it thing” or could it damage or affect other things if it’s not up to par? Just because it puts the cart in the correct motions does that necessarily mean it’s 100%? So with that said I will replace it if that’s what ya”ll suggest, I haven’t cut anything yet heh so everything is still in one piece 😆

If it's working fine, you can clean up those cables without taking it out.

I have an extra handle you can have. Let me know. It’s used but in pretty good shape

Thanks mooncarter I guess I’ll just leave it on and work around it :) Thank you manwtn that’s very kind of you, I may take you up on that offer if I end up cutting it off and replacing the switch. Hopefully I didn’t break anything with all that prying hammering and pulling lol If I did I’ll have to cut it off for sure. thank you
