Re: Brand new batteries, no charge 48v
That is why I said "hopefully"... the other component in the negative path from the charger receptacle to the battery is the OBC itself.
Check the 10ga black wire from the charge receptacle to the OBC. Also check the 10ga black wire from the OBC to the connection block then to the Controller B-. |

Silly question maybe, can I bypass the OBC following these instructions to just see if the charger kicks on or completes the ground circuit? |

Re: Brand new batteries, no charge 48v
Yes, but not those directions as You have an IQ (Sepex) cart and not a Series cart.
You can run the negative wire from the back of the charger receptacle directly to pack negative, Controller B- or that negative wire junction. You may also need to run the gray wire directly to negative as some versions of the OBC will not run if they are not in total control of the charging. |

Re: Brand new batteries, no charge 48v
Okay, so jumping from pack negative to the black wire on the back of the receptacle nets me a full amp charge...
safe to say the OBC is dead? Thanks for all the help btw, the forum has great info. |

Re: Brand new batteries, no charge 48v
Unless that negative connection block is really bad, the SCR inside the OBC has failed and it is not allowing the current to flow from the charger receptacle.
You can do the rest of the by-pass (controller lockout for Sepex) and consider getting a smart charger that does not need the OBC. |
