Default '89 Electric Stripped Hub

I am new to the forum....I have a '89 electric and it appears the hub is stripped, step on the gas and you see the crown nut spin, but nothing else does. I purchased a new hub, however I can't remove the crown nut (axle spins). How do you lock the axle to remove the crown nut? Any advise will be appreciated.

Lock your parking brake. It should lock up the rear end for you.

Locked the parking brake and the axle still spins....I think this will be pretty easy if I can figure out how to take the nut off and then I will need to put it back on, as well, once I put the hub on. Is there a hole or something that I can stick a screw driver in to lock the axle?

Actually doesn't the brake clasp onto the hub, as the hub is locked into position when I put the braks on, however the axle still spins when I try to turn the castle nut. How do I stop the axle from spinning so I can remove the castle nut?

If you can't get it with an electric impact .... then you may have drop the pan and lock up the gears. That torque setting on the axle nut is 75-140 Ft Pds.
