Angry EZ GO Auto Brake Lock Consumer complaint

I am considering filing a complaint with the consumer safety commission because of the auto brake system locking up on my 2008 rxv. The regional rep has replaced the solenoid and computer twice and the entire wiring harness. The cart will just lock up and practically throw you thru the windshield. On way to club house car nearly hit us from behind when brakes locked up and they had to swerve. EZGO seems to be clueless on this and it is indeed a safety hazard.

Have other cart owners experienced the same and to what degree? Yes all you need to do is turn key off and back on but if I have another cart or car parked on your chest that might be hard!! Thanks for your input. Dan & Nancy in Las Vegas.

hi i have experienced that 2 times already. My friend said to put some water in the batteries and they only lock up because the governor is working too hard and it overheats and starts smoking. Mine just had a smell of burning plastic or rubber and it locked up while i was going to the grocery store. so you are not the only one. Now i know 3 people it has happened to.

Thanks for reply - my cart has been completely gone thru by the ez go corp warranty guy twice. Most recently only about 6 weeks ago - replaced all wiring - controller- solenoid and everything but the electric motor. Have ez fill on batteries and they are always filled. The corp office is now sending a specialist from where ever and they will be looking at cart again on Wed. I have essentially demanded they replace the cart at very little cost to me. Wife and I were **** near killed when they locked up last time. Will keep you posted on out come. Appears to be mainly the 2008 - not newer carts.

Do you have any accessories connected to the batteries. I saw in another post it could cause a similar issue.

the 2008 model was "buggy" to say the least.....

there have been multiple issues regarding the solenoids as well as the aforementioned lock up while driving (this issue is mainly caused by accessories being hooked directly to a single battery rather than being powered by a voltage reducer).

Please keep us informed as to what the Tech determines on Wednesday.

Where are you located if you don't mind me asking?

I agree the first carts were a little buggy but all the problems seemed to disappear in the newer carts.
