Speed sensor and magnet came in today. Speed sensor is nothing but a plastic cap with a connector wire, and the magnet looks like a plastic washer. I'm going to put them on tonight. I hope the result is more impressive than the product!

Yup that is exactly what they look like. IF your problem was the magnet and speed sensor you are going to be pleasantly surprised at what happens!!

That's not true. SCREWING UP is EASY! Below is a little trick I've been doing after roasting a wire about 10 years ago while installing some accessory or another on my cart - I temporarily use a 20 amp fuse in line (see below) when I test/connect new wires or connections before affixing them permanently. Takes just a moment or two to test/touch a new connection, and minimizes the smoke factor.
