Default G2/G9 Parts

Hi Guys,

I've got some G2 or G9 stuff to clear out of my garage. I'm not sure what to ask for any of it, just make an offer. My G9 is smoking pretty bad and I took this motor apart to rebuild so I can just drop it in, but I believe the motor in my G9 is in better shape so I'm going to rebuild that instead.

Full disclaimer, I don't know anything about this motor. It came with a G2 I bought, it was in a crate on the floor. He said it ran when it was removed but I don't think I believe it. It wasn't seized but that's about all I know.

The parts are as-removed. They all need a date with a parts washer (something I would do anyway if rebuilding it) but I'm not going to use them. They've all got quite a bit of dirt/mud stuff on them. The cylinder will need to be bored, it is currently a standard bore judging by the piston that has no markings on it to indicate overbore. I did run a hone through it just to try and clean it up; and it's not super bad (i've seen much worse that's run) but I wouldn't build it like this.

Head needs to be cleaned out, wire brush should make it good. I don't know what that scummy stuff is in there (like mud or something) but it does clean out relatively easily. I'll try and clean it off with a wire brush later and get some cleaner pics.

Air box has all of the tabs but needs cleaned. I think I have the other baffles and stuff for it, i'd have to go look in the crate.

Will sell motor complete, or part it out. Doesn't matter to me. The cooling fan has 2 broken fins from being tossed around in his shed apparently. Mostly it all just needs a good cleaning.

Also do have a spare OEM Mikuni carb. It was pretty caked with dirt and crud, so I'm cleaning it up a bit. I'm not going to go crazy with it; I'd still recommend cleaning it and replacing the gasket for the bowl, but it's currently having a spa day in the ultrasonic cleaner. I'll post pictures later tonight once I have a chance to get back out to my shop.

Any questions, just ask :)

Carb actually came out really good. Much better than expected. Can probably just bolt it on and go :)

Bump

Going to hang onto the carb for a rainy day, but the rest of the motor is up for grabs if anyone wants it. If you're local you can have it for free. I'd rather not ship because thats kind of a hassle but I'll ship on your dime for whatever shipping costs are.

Airbox is gone, already gave that away to another member a couple months ago.

You might want to clean up the head, crank and balance shafts up if they are in good shape. I sold each of those parts for like $125 on Ebay with people asking if I had any more after they first one were sold. All 3 parts were sold in less than a week. Please note the parts I sold were in mint condition. Oddly the rare G 14 block took the longest to sell. I could not sell the engine complete on here or E bay for $200 but got $950 parting it out on Ebay. Again note the 3 parts of the ignition sold for a good part of that total priced at 50% of boat.net pricing. All 3 of those parts sold in a matter of days.

If nobody here wants them, I may go with the ebay route. I've parted out 4wheelers on ebay in the past that weren't worth fixing, and made more money taking them apart than I could have made with them working in mint condition! But it's also a hassle...

HE said it ran but smoked so put a predator in the cart when I got it. Then blew up the predator and I got the cart and a couple totes full of random parts. The engine was complete and assembled when I took it apart. It turned over freely but I never tried anything further with it. I'm sure it would clean up pretty well, I just don't really care to mess with it. I've got no use for it.

I think I still have a few things... I know I've got a flywheel and side cover (because I just threw those in my scrap metal pile on the side of the house lol) but not sure what else... what are you looking for?

Sorry, sold the block on ebay a few weeks ago for like $20 and gave the balance shaft and crankshaft to another member here not too long ago.

I did look today and still have the side cover, oil fill spout, and a couple small parts but the rest is all pretty much gone.
