Default GC Newbie looking at nice 97 g16

Hi all i am a golf cart newbie... i have been a jeep nut in the past (had wranglers and cjs) now we are looking at a golf cart to ride around our neighborhood. We found a really good looking 97 g16 on cl.The ad states that it was repainted by a local body shop, the frame is rust free and also painted and it has a new yamaha carb. It is lifted it has a nice seat but has a cargo type bed. Asking 2900 obo. I have had very good luck with yamaha boat engines...so i like yamaha :) is this known to be a good cart? Thoughts?

Welcome. You can't beat a G16, except maybe with a G22. They're a great cart, hands down. Post up a link to the CL ad.

Welcome, i also have a 97g16,it amazes me how durable they are, a few things to do right away. grease rear clutch, zert is on inside, only 2 pumps, it will throw around if you over do it, also front clutch, same thing 2 pumps only. clean battery connections, change oil 10w30 synthetic; spark plug and fuel filter, listen to the overhead valves, if they are quiet, leave them alone. look at air filter and clean, that's about it, any questions just ask''''''''' good luck
