How do i tell if the throttle blade is closing 100%??

What are the 2 adjustable screws on the back side of the carb. One looks like a butterfly stop and something ??

In order to reach 5000 rpm you are going to have to do some modifying!

I would pull the carb off and look at it. When off, slide it closed with your finger (remember the spring opens it, and throttle cable closes it). Adjust as needed so that you don't see light coming through, (but also that it does not "stick" when closed). Then bolt it back on and adj your cable so that the spring has slight tension on it when closed and you should be good. I am just guessing at this procedure, others who have worked on carts a lot may have a better way, but this is what I would do unless I learned a better way.

I think I will be able to do that. The biggest issue I see is that itsy bitsy carb venturi, I think a bigger carb would be the most bang for the buck. Next year I will have to see about adding EFI, I do have an extra wide band O2 laying around, and an extra ECU, hum,.... Yeah, I could get carried away easily!

I haven't read any other manuals, or bothered to look at that part of the 85 manual, so I can't answer that question.

What year is your manual? The 88 cart was still a 2pg, but it makes 11 hp with a BV-24 carburetor, and a different exhaust.
