G1 sitting for 2 years newbie can't get running
Got a 1980 G1 that I bought hasn't ran in 2 years but did when it was last parked, I replaced air filter carb plug belts oil and fuel filter along with throttle cable and battery as well first shot had 1 click and blew fuse now nothing, but if I hold gas pedal for a few seconds ground and power wire heat up quick near fuse and will start to smoke if I don't let off, what would be my next move to figure this out thanks

Sounds like a electrical problem. Check every wire closely for a short. Was it indoors or out ? Squirrels have a tendency to build nest and chew wires.

It was outdoors with a pickup cap over it so not animal proof, I'll check them all tonight
