Re: no forward/reverse when gas pedal pushed
I would start with.. is it getting gas, is it getting spark. Gotta have both of them.

Re: no forward/reverse when gas pedal pushed
Ok let me ask is what you hear the starter motor only (a steady whirring sound) or the starter and the engine (a deeper puttering sound)? Does the sound change at all when you pull the choke out? Do you feel any air coming out of the exhaust with the pedal pushed and the starter turning?

Re: no forward/reverse when gas pedal pushed
Ok so you saw spark? Your sure your not getting fuel the next logical place would be to remove the output line from the fuel pump and turn the engine over to see if it is pumping fuel.

Re: no forward/reverse when gas pedal pushed
No there is no reason to purge or prime the lines, the fuel pump will do this

Re: no forward/reverse when gas pedal pushed
Got it started with prime n fuel filter and n 1 line ran for 10 min but I never put gas n second cap off line does it need to be filled for vacuum to take affect or is it that 3 way valve coming from tank main in line 2 others btm to cap line other to the motor it's self where choke n throttle go ,it was wanting to take off with push of gas pedal but had all apart n really couldn't get on it had to hold it back

Re: no forward/reverse when gas pedal pushed
So you filled the line and filter and it ran for 10 minutes? Then it wouldn't run anymore? Or it's running fine now? That isn't a three way valve that's your fuel pump which I suspect at this point is your problem

Re: no forward/reverse when gas pedal pushed
I'm hoping that that's the problem I took it apart in cleaned it but it wasn't that bad everything was clear but not letting gas through, but does both lines that come off it have to have gas in them for a vacuum effect I only fill the one line with gas that went to carb. It's still not running, just don't see how it pumps if nothing is pulling it out of tank but I appreciate everything u all are helping me with

Re: no forward/reverse when gas pedal pushed
You shouldn't have to fill any lines with gas. If the fuel pump is working and your lines aren't blocked it should draw gas from the tank on its own.
