Solenoid rapid clicking
I have a gas 2003 EzGo TXT that has been running fine for years now. Yesterday I got on and tried to drive off and the 12v Solenoid just started rapidly clicking when I turned it on and pushed the pedal, I noticed the ground wire to the battery got so hot that it melted (started smoking too) the plastic insulation on it. I'm suspecting it's the solenoid but when I test the terminals top and bottom my multi meter goes nuts and never settles on a number. Was also thinking it could be the voltage regulator but doesn't it just regulate the electricity going back to the battery after it goes through the solenoid? The starter generator never spins the pulley either.
Anybody ran into anything similar? |

Re: Solenoid rapid clicking
My ground wire melted when the pos of the battery shifted and hit the frame causing a dead short....that's as close as I have for you
