electronic ignition conversion
I have a marathon cart with 2 PG engine and points the crank (cam ) is wiped out is there a way to convert to electronic ignition Flying magnet style without replacing crank or is it junk any help would be great thanks Brian

Thanks But the cam on mine is the reason I have to do some kind of conversion it is wiped out anyone every try a crank trigger setup were it just controls the ground been trying to figure it out but might have to use 2 triggers one for forward and one for reverse I don't want to rip apart this engine I have enough stuff I have to keep up with now any thoughts or ideas would be great thanks Brian

the newer 2pg's use a pulsar with a trigger on the flywheel - find a newer flywheel and figure out a way to mount the pulsar and You should be good to convert ... There should be plenty of material to drill and tap for the pulsar at the same location as the newer style, the blocks are pretty similar

Years ago I converted an onan generator using a ford truck trigger and a small neodymium magnet that we drilled a small hole in the flywheel stuck it in and epoxied it in place.
I saw several videos on the tube for it. Should be able to do this easy on a 2 pg. |
