Batteries or indicator?
I'm new to golf carts and the forum I didn't know there was so much to learn. I just purchased a 2002 CC with high speed motor. My batteries are Trojan 875 date G4. I have a battery indicator that says the cart needs charged. After putting it on the charger the indicator is lower than before the charge. I checked the batteries with my multimeter each battery came in at between 8V to 9V when tested as a unit I get 54V. At the connection of the battery indicator I have 51V. Is the indicator bad or do I have battery issues? Does the battery indicator act as a volt meter? Thanks for any help.

Re: Batteries or indicator?
Welcome to BGW!
Here is some good reading on Batteries. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...batteries.html The indicator could be bad. I would suggest a voltage meter they give accurate state of charge readings so that you can know when it's time to recharge. The site sponsors carry them. fcsarebel,
Welcome to the forum. There are lots of great people here, and great golf car builds and repairs, and upgrades to learn from. Share some photos of your new ride when you can. Thanks, Aflyer |

Re: Batteries or indicator?
It runs good until I have a steep incline. When I tried to drive it up ramps to load it on my F250 it just stops.

Re: Batteries or indicator?
High speed motors produce more speed but less torque than factory motors. In order to regain some of the torque lost by installing a high speed motor, you must upgrade the motor controller. Increasing the amperage to the motor will generate more torque. That may be all you need. Are you running the factory controller? What motor do you have?

Re: Batteries or indicator?
My controller is a Curtis 1204-410. From what I have read this is the stock controller. Where can I find information on the right kind of controller? I have a D&D 10.1 HP motor.

Re: Batteries or indicator?
From a reputable Buggies Gone Wild site sponsor. I recommend the Alltrax SR500, heavy duty F&R switch, heavy duty solenoid, and 2 gauge cables.

Re: Batteries or indicator?
As far as controllers does the motor matter? I have a D&D 170-003-0002.
