Default How many hours do the newer gas carts last?

How many hours will one of the newer fuel injected Yamaha’s last with just basic oil changes etc?

Default Re: How many hours do the newer gas carts last?

Not sure how you answer that, but a long time. My old '92 G9 did 7 years at a golf course and I bought it. In 2011 it was starting to blow just a little oil smoke, so I could of rebuilt it but did not. It ran fine but next summer I pulled engine and put a clone in it. This spring I pulled that and put a rod and cam in it. I used it mostly on weekends in summer, a winter ride here and there. I used to run it up to 6 hour rides on trails with the stock motor. Don't have time to trail ride like that right now but hope to in future. Carts are very overbuilt, with just a little reasonable care they last very long time. Though if you are in south and use them year around or run them hours a day/etc, sure they might not last 20yr without more care. Even then it will be the engine that wears out first. I highly doubt a yamaha would be the first to wear out compared to other carts, but possibly the last. I did have to put a new start solenoid in it about 2 year ago, I've replaced the entire CVT in last few years, most other things are stock yet aside from cables and tires and typical wear things. Seat is getting a tear in it now but I kept it inside most of the time.
