Default Swap Yamaha G9 gas to ezgo txt electric

I just got a Yamaha G9 motor wanting to convert a 36 volt 96 ezgo txt 36 volt to gas with this Yamaha motor . I know very little about golf carts . But very mechanical. Any help would be appreciated and parts I will need. Also like it to have a reverse. Tks

You'll need the motor, electronics to make it run, and a rear axle. The rest you're on your own. I know you said you're mechanically inclined, hopefully that includes fabrication and welding because you'll need aptitude in both to make it work.

And a rear axle from a four cycle gas cart in order to have reverse.

Best of luck on that one. The TXT leaf spring setup doesn't lend itself easily to the type of conversion you want to do. I love fabrication, and I wouldn't want to do that one. I suggest selling cart & parts, and buying a gas cart.

You might want to look at the carsandcameras golf cart videos on youtube. They did a conversion very similar to what you are thinking about.

Thanks . Guess I'll just put new electric motor in the ezgo and look for a gas Yamaha cart. Since I have the motor's for it . Back to the drawing board.
