Yamaha g1 gas governor removal
does the governor spindle shaft need to be locked up and which way, want to know year model for J32-011179 which i cant find on any chart?

If you're just trying to get more speed, disconnect all the governor rods etc and run a cable from the pedal to the carb directly. At low speeds the internal governor parts don't need to be removed. At high speeds, like above 35mph, there is a possibility that the parts could eventually come apart, although i've never seen it.

Thanks, since post have done by-pass and connected cable to carby i also fixed gov spindle in off position so it wouldn't be floating around in diff, don't know if thats good or not time will tell,eh.

Just know that these carts SCREAM when the throttle cable is directly attached. Just because that your cart will be able to do 30 mph doesn't make it good for you nor the cart. Adults are fine but make sure the kids know not to kill it.
