Default 99 G16 not firing, clutch spinning

A couple days ago I was driving around and suddenly lost power
I was able to make it home (over a mile) but very, very slowly.

Today i had to choke it to get it backed out of the garage (seemed to run fine though) and then I barely pulled onto the street when I heard a loud noise as if something broke apart and the cart came to a stop.

Now when I press the gas pedal, the clutch spins freely (running off the battery?) but the engine wont even try to turn over..

Any ideas?

Need clarification. Is the clutch spinning on the shaft, like the bolt is loose?

Or is the engine spinning and not firing?

Check the basics:

1. Fuel delivery
2. Spark present
3. Air availability
4. Compression

If an engine has all 4 it should run.

No it's definitely not starting. Do you know how to check all 4 items?

I'm getting a spark, but no fuel coming out from the hose connected to the carb.. so now I would assume it's the fuel pump? But shouldn't I hear it try to crank, even without fuel?

Your engine is being cranked--the clutch is turning, and you said you had spark.
The engine isn't firing--running and accelerating. I'd give it a shot of starting fluid, or dribble some gas down the throat of the carb.

Ok thanks, I'm running to the store for some starting fluid now.

My mechanical expertise is limited to the last youtube video I watched
