you wont find an exact copy of the G1 mount, just use the after market ones available and modify as you see fit. CGTECH is right it is the front mounts for the G2 that i belive they have copied
I got muffler off and my ‘82 did have an engine tensioner. It’s missing or been removed. Since I’m replacing mounts I’d like to put it back. Anyone know where to find or how to make one?

Yep, it can easily be fabricated from a governor adjuster. Look it up, not hard & not expensive. But, I think the correct parts can still be had (for more money).

The original is known for breaking/wearing out. But the alternative will never wear out.

The original tensioner is a stainless steel cable with two eyelets on each end. Not real heavy duty in my opinion.

I just made a plate out of 1" flat bar with a hole on each end that connected to the engine mount on one side and the rear axle on the other. The idea is you're just trying to stop and back and forth movement of the engine/mount during acceleration/deceleration.

I have made several different tensioners. On page 14 of my Vc460 build is the one that worked by far the best. It has a urethane bushing between the 2 metal mounts. It seems to control any bucking between hard acceleration and braking cycles.
