Default G9 bypass question

Hi there newbie here

I just bought my first cart a 92 g9 Yamaha. I took the the plunge and bypassed the governor and have good results. My question is am I suppose to remove the governor arm that’s coming out of the differential?

It’s just kind of “floppy” there now and I didn’t know If that’s how I leave it.

Most will leave it attached, as long as it's not touching anything and rubbing etc. The vertical shaft you want to leave alone, it attaches to parts inside and if you try and remove that, the internal parts may come apart. If you have a long bracket attached to that, you can take that off.

The best way to deal with it is to take the trans apart and remove all the internal parts, but that's a ton of work.

Perfect that’s just what I needed to know. It sound like I’m going to just leave it be. I don’t what to get into tearing apart a perfectly good transmission

I would just add a light spring to hold it in it's normal direction. ( towards the engine).
I wouldnt want it "flopping around" either.
