Hear something turning but won't start. The DRIVE
YDRAX3 2012 JW8-F4236-30 I've been told that it's called 'The Drive' but I'm not sure.
My issue: When I press the accelerator I can hear something sounding like it is turning but the pulley on the starter just barely moves. Maybe 1/2 inch. When this problem first started, I could press the pedal again and again and it would eventually start. |

Is the pulley on the clutch barely moving or the starter? Sounds to me like you need to tighten up the starter belt a bit

The pulley on the starter doesn't turn at all. It just bumps when the accelerator is first pressed.
The noise that I hear seems to be coming from inside the starter but it's not the kind of noise that I typically hear when the thing is starting. |

Sounds like the brushes are arching. Bad brushes or armature

Now I'm wondering if it's not just the battery. I put a 10 amp charger on the battery for a few minutes and the cart fired right up. I drove the cart around for several minutes and it's working fine.
So, if a battery is weak, does it not make a clicking sound like a car with a weak battery? |

Different animal. Golf car has a starter generator, if charging the battery made it work you have found your issue.
