New Motor for 04 Precedent Question
I have a 2004 Precedent, 6" lift, 23" tires, DCX 500 Alltrax controller, 4 ga wires. the batteries were replaced within the last two months, 4x12V Trojans. Due to degrading performance I believe the stock motor is getting tired, to say the least. So I am on the path to replacing the motor and will probably upgrade to 2 ga cables at the same time.
So I am looking for motor recommendations for greatly improved torque that still gets decent speed. What has anyone done with a similar set up? Thanks for your help. Bennie |

Contact Plum Quick and tell them your set up. They will hook you up.

Re: New Motor for 04 Precedent Question
I just put a Plum Quick motor in my cart. I sent my motor to them and they refurbished it to the Bandit. I love the torque I'm getting out of it now and a little more speed. You just can't beat the price for what all you get.

Re: New Motor for 04 Precedent Question
I called Plum Quick a couple of weeks ago and was told the bandit would likely increse the torque about 20%. I've seen all the great posts on here as well and I know they are a great bunch to deal with. I only want to do this motor change once and just want to make sure that I increase the torque as much as possbile without slwoing down the top end.

Re: New Motor for 04 Precedent Question
I was the same way, I didn't want to do this twice. I'm really pleased with my motor. I think the Bandit is the best choice for both torque and speed. I've not seen anybody here on BGW that didn't like it after they went the Bandit route. I have almost the same setup as you. I have the Alltrax 500amp controller, 400amp cont. solenoid, 2 gauge cables, and 23" tires. My batteries are 4 years old, still strong but not new. I GPS my cart after putting the Bandit in, the torque will pull you back in the seat pretty good and the speed I got was 23mph. That was from a dead stop on level ground with a buddy of mine riding with me in a distance of around 150 yards. I weigh 250 lbs. and he weighs 195 lbs. thats a pretty good load on the cart, I might have gotten another 1 or 2 mph if I was by myself and had new batteries.

Re: New Motor for 04 Precedent Question
I took it up a steep hill here at the house and it pulled it real good. It actually spun a couple of times on the way up. Before I put the 500 amp controller and plum quick motor in my buggie it would hardly pull the same hill. I think you would like the torque it produces.
