Radio Static

Hi all i'm sure this is somehwre posted have a 2006 Club Car Precentat 48 volts
Just installed a radio ran the wires to the number 2 battery postive and negitive it is in a overhead compartment but it seem to get static when the cart ias running is there anything that can be done? Thanks

You are getting static from motor, controller etc. To solve the problem I use a seperate small 12 volt battery that is not close to battery compartment ( mine is over front suspension and wiring and switches are on dash and wiring runs inside top supports ) and away from motor and controls.

first thing i would recommend is to move your + & - connections to battery 4 (im assuming this is 4 x 12V batteries. correct?). this eliminates the possibility of a ground loop. if that doesn't fix the issue, pull the power & ground wires and replace with twisted pair (tip: clamp the 2 wires in a vise, chuck the other 2 ends of the wire into a drill. rotate drill while applying a little tension to keep the wires taught. continue twisting until TLAR ). re-route newly twisted power and ground as far away as practical from any cart wiring (especially any of the heavy battery cables). if the +/- pair has to cross any of the heavy wires, do so at 90°. finally, you can install a snap-on ferrite bead within a few inches of the radio. (loop the wire one time around the bead before snapping close). same goes for the antenna, do not run the antenna parallel to any power wires. be certain you have isolated the antenna from the chassis of the vehicle.

the above advice is based on my general knowledge and experience in the field, not a specific solution to your exact problem. YMMV.

yes this is 4 battery i will try and move the wires to the number 4 battery my light kits is on that battery too thanks
