You can tell if battery is bad or beyond charge by using a volt meter along with a battery hydrometer. These are pretty inexpensive and easy to use get 1.
and check each battery cell .
I am attaching a link of what one looks like , don't get the antifreeze tester , get on like in the link with numbers . All automotive shops have them.

I just performed this task and here is what happened:

1. Cart charger cliked on ran it's diagnostic cycle (ameter read just under 5)
2. Then cart charger acted like it was going to begin a charge cycle (ameter read just under 5)
3. Cart charger cut off.

Any thoughts?

Make sure charger is unplugged

Place +POS of Volt meter on the first +POS battery post .
Place -NEG of volt meter on last -NEG battery post.
Leave the leads attached to batteries

So U are starting out measuring pack voltage.
write it down and post here
Plug the meter up and and start , let it run a couple and
write it down and post here.
Now the Aggravating part, every hour or so check on it because the charger will not shut off without the OBC in the circuit
When the voltage gets up to 58-60 volts across the pack or 8 hours whichever comes first, Unplug the charger
wait 4-6 hours and measure the pack
write it down and post here
so what were the voltages at the beginning of this
Take a close up picture of the battery pack and podt it

GLEEMO i turned off and unhooked the cart charger becasue the ameter droped to 0. I guess i was expecting to see it jump to 15amp and stay there as if it were charging normally. The charger did continue to humm though. Did i back off when i shouldnt have?

Yes i'll break out the camera and post new ones...the cell phone didnt do well. I need clarification though.
This is what i am going to do:
1. Jump the battery charger as shown in the image that you provided.
2. Plug charger into cart and then introduce power to the charger.
3. Take readings as instructed...write them down and post them here.
4. It does not matter that the ameter on the cart charger is at 0?

That sound about right GLEEMO?

Here is a before and after of the jump. Did you see my question about the ameter staying at 0 during this process?
