Headlights go dim while driving

I was afraid the batteries were toast. I added almost two gallons of distilled water to the six batteries! You guys recommend any particular brand of battery that won't break the bank?

From my home work I did in my area, even the low end batteries call for a pretty deep whole in the wallet...

not being a smart arse but you kinda get what you pay for......more important no matter what brand is maintence that makes the difference..........................

I use Trojan batterys myself but like most its hard to pay the costs, but in the long run you get your money back. ( My own Trojans are now over 9 years old and I am looking at replacement this year or at latest next ) Others seem to be using US and Crown as equals to Trojan and CC has switched to Crown batterys.
Do not buy by price only as you will end up with what I call "RENTING YOUR BATTERYS" as they often dont last very long and ( ADJUSTMENTS ) will kill you in buying batterys over and over again. One good way to tell quality is pick up different batterys as WEIGHT IS LEAD and the more lead the better battery is ( unless some are back to putting non lead weight in bottom?
Then proper break in and charging and maintaince will give you the quality that you paid for.

Thanks for all the advice! At least I feel better about not screwing up the light wiring. Although that certainly would have been a less expensive fix...
