How do I get a 1996 Club Car Electric keep up with the gassers

Keep up with the gassers? I suggest a strong tow rope from the front of yours to the back of one of theirs!

Or maybe more beans!

My Yamaha 1988 gas Golf cart does 29 mph but I moved it to MN where its the fastest on the course. It was street modified with high speed gears no governor plus street lights and license. Now my electric Club car with street lights is going a SLOOW 20 MPH - I need more speed. My guess Is I need a new motor plus a controller.???

I know there are fast electrics out there. I have a friend that has a Columbia Par Car that does 35. Its an electric. The street golf carts here in AZ are FAST. Electric and Gas.

Is your CC 36v or 48v?
You do not likely have a high speed rear axle as most stock series carts will do 18mph without any changes.
If your cart is 36v, a 48v upgrade will give you 33% more torque and speed by adding or changing batteries and having a controller that will handle 48v. If your cart is already at 20mph, a 30% increase is 25mph.
For $225, Plum Quick could tweak that motor and give you an additional 20% which would be 30mph.

..........My 36v series motor runs about 25mph in my 48v cart with stock 18" tires. Been thinking about PQ motor.

Remember speed costs money...you can only go as fast as your budget( or wife) will let you go! Now that the reality check is over are you ready for a 108v conversion? Gasser Killer!! Muuahahahah!

108 volts!!??? I guess you could have 2 layers of batteries ... but you could buy a lot of gas for that same $1,000 !

Thanks for your comments and help. This is a 48V 1996 Club Car. It does do around 20 mph so I think its got high speed gears. I guess I will just lean back and take it easy on the way to and back from the golf course. Todays course was about 2 miles away. After playing 18 it seemed a little tired and the meter was in the lower part but still in the green.
