Golf Cart with ATV Engine and Drivetrain
Hey Everyone,
I'm currently building a golf cart from a 1990 2 stroke EZ GO Marathon and 1993 Honda 300EX sport quad (with reverse). The process is currently underway. I will be using the entire drivetrain, suspension and engine from the 300ex ATV which will be fabricated it to the frame of the EZ GO. I currently have plans for all the major potential problems, however I would love to hear some of your ideas, as well as pictures from your own projects. I will be sure to keep everyone up to date with my progress along with pictures of the process. |

Re: Golf Cart with ATV Engine and Drivetrain
Cool project. Looks like the EX400 had a 17 hp engine & a 5 speed trans with top speeds up to 55 mph!!
Good luck with it. Should be a fun cart to drive! |

Re: Golf Cart with ATV Engine and Drivetrain
No kidding. 35 mph in my cart is more than most people want to deal with.......the cart starts wandering & doing weird things at those speeds, especially with 3 or 4 people on it!!

Man, that'll be on sight to see when its finished. Forget the 4 leaf rear, you probably need 10 leafs! Actually, Id try to build a custom coil over setup with some anti-roll bars to keep that thing on the ground. Definitely a 4 wheel hydraulic disc brake setup.

Everything is going well with the project, the hardest part is finding time to work on it.
The four wheeler and golf cart have been cut and the two frames are ready to be connected. |
