Being a novice... are there any tests that I can do to determine the true issue?

How do I know if the run/tow switch is good/bad?

I am scared if I take it to a shop the will say I need a new motor, controller, computer, and solenoid!

...or a new upgrade for $250 link

i do recommend isolating the issue prior to throwing money at it. here are some basic switch testing techniques. these tests assume the switch is switching the positive side of the CUT.

if the resistor is bad its not gonna work and its not gonna hurt to throw a 5.00 part on before a 300.00 controller.............worst case is it did take controller out but i would slap a resistor in there and find out for certain.......its a golfcart guys you can have the same exact thing happen 9 times and on the tenth it throws you a curve ball.............someday.......................... ..........

New development.... I just took the resistor off and tested it will my multimeter. It read .240. I am no professional here, but I believe that means it is still good, correct?

So I put the resistor back on, turn the cart to run, turned key on and pushed the gas pedal. It clicked, but didnt move. I take that as the soleniod is still good?

Almost immeadiatly the resistor started to smell burnt again so I quickly disconnected.

I believe I have ruled out the resistor and soleniod as the problem.

So it must be OBC, controller, or the motor.

The motor is problem not the issue since there is no power getting to it.

I have another few newbie questions:

1. If the cart is in "tow" mode , what should happen?
2. Is there a way to tell if the computer is still good? I plugged in the charger and it clicked, but it never started charging.
