Default 88 Marathon axle swap

Does anyone know of a 4 stroke axle that will bolt up to my 1988 Marathon? I am planning an engine swap but would like to have reverse still. I have also thought about dropping the front of the axle/swingarm and custom mounting it to allow more room for the engine swap so any axle near the same width would work.

Also has anyone ever flipped the front axle over to act as a lift for the front end? I'm working on building a custom long travel suspension with atv shocks but am planning on using the stock axle to keep costs down. Flipping the axle over would make for less modification to the steering components and hopefully an easier build.
