Cub car new motor and controller slow response

I have a 2001 iq 48v with a plum quick bandit and an alltrax 500 amp controller. I have terrible lag in the acceleration when pressing the go pedal.
Any suggestions ?

Check a few things....
Peddle action = is the mechanical linkage action lagging?
Pot signal = is the output consistent?
Controller program = has the throttle map been upgrade ?
