Re: Battery question
I agree with with 2003, I had a battery do the same thing. However I was able to just lift the cart up and secure in on jack stands and still find the bad battery. I don't remember what my voltage was for all the batteries but the bad battery was at least 1v below the others with no load (stall load like the method mentioned above). I replaced that battery and has worked great ever since.
I would recommend finding a used battery but if you can't find a used battery with the same or above amp hour rating if you are only replacing one a new battery will work, but don't plan on keeping it when you replace the pack as it will quickly age to the same age as the rest of the pack. |

Re: Battery question
I will try that test tonight, never thought of a battery being bad, I just bought them last year brand new and the were stored in a heated shop all winter so I didn't figure they would be the problem, but it sounds like maybe they are.....

Re: Battery question
You should fully charge new batteries as sin as youu get them, and after each use. Battery break-in procedures can be found on carts unlimited site at cartsunlimited.net. Get your money's worth. They aren't cheap,

Re: Battery question
Quote:
Amps not converted into motion are exponentially converted into heat. (W = I^2 x R) The potential for burning out the motor and controller is far less when the DVM is sequentially attached to each battery with clip leads and the cart is accelerated from a standstill to test each battery. ----------- Batteries don't age as fast in cooler climates, so storing the new batteries in a heated shop may have been counterproductive, especially if they were not maintained at or near 100% SoC during the storage period. |

All battery's check out good as do cables, proper voltage all around after charging but the round disc/terminals on the speed board that the wiper goes across, two are really burnt and pitted. They are number 3 and 4 . Could this be my speed problem? |

Re: Battery question
that is a big problem... but will not affect the volts at the batteries
you need to replace all the studs !!!! ... they are beyond saving and if its pitted then wirer arm is too |
