Default 1997 G16 Front Lowering

Hey guys, I am starting on my "budget" personalization of my 1997 G16 4 stroke cart. I've started removing the body panels and have decided to go with skinny tires in the front with a drop. I have the coil over set up in the front as most of you already are aware, is there any cheap/free DIY tricks to drop the front a couple inches?

I had went as far as starting to type that idea sunday, but i think the spring is "beehive" shaped. That might allow the spring to pop over its retainer, then you have a really-really-lowrider...

What about coilovers from something else that would be shorter. From say a mini ATV?

There's an ATV/cycle salvage yard north of me. Gonna pull one shock off the cart tonight and bring it with me and see if I can find something a couple inches shorter. Hopefully i can solve this to help.anyone else in the future. Just trying to avoid doing any welding or cutting

The arms will have to be modified also, or you will have very bad camber problems. The arms travel in an arc, like old VW beetle. The front wheels will look like this.

Almost sounds like I should do something with the spindles maybe. Possibly to flip drop spindles from a lift kit?

That looks like a good plan, but i would want to add some gussets where the arm meets the spindle bracket for stability.

Looks like you cut the existing spindle off of the A arm, and moved it up. By the looks of the pic, it looks like there's not much structural strength unless there's more on the other side I can't see. Just looks like a bead of weld along the bottom? How did it hold up?
