Default I might be stupid....help please :)

I posted earlier this week on a KF82 issue. If you want the full story, read that one. Question is.....if the crankcase vent tube is blocked off (that's the 'stupid' part), what symptoms would be present? It was running fine, then started pinging on load, then after I shut it off for a few, it wouldn't start. While cranking engine, it 'sounded' like the choke was full on (it wasn't) and fuel was leaking (small amt) from somewhere around carb area. When I removed air cleaner and cranked motor, it was pushing air OUT the intake. I haven't checked compression yet (no time) but it 'feels' like there is pretty good compression. It's an 84 DS. I'll be tearing into this this weekend but was trying to get some ideas before I do something ELSE that might be 'stupid'! :)

There should be a flexible vent tube from the carb that goes down and exits under/near the cart.

If this is blocked, you will have issues with the cart flooding out. That is to say it will actually pump gas out of the carb, won't want to start, but crank over just fine.

When this happened to me, I merely disconnected the vent line from the carb, blew it out with compressed air - then reconnected it.

I think it's official.....I'm stupid!!!! :) What you just described is exactly the symptom I had....it seemed like it flooded. The plug does not look fouled though. I spent two hours getting the motor out (limited on tools where the cart lives) and probably just needed to unplug the vent hose. If I didn't mention it (the stupid part), I plugged that line on PURPOSE when I put the air cleaner stuff back to stock. I didn't realize that hose was the crankcase vent...I thought it was from the carb back into the air cleaner. Ughhhhh! So....would I have damaged anything?

It's official...I'm stupid! :) Just wanted to check back in and update all who helped me with this issue. I put the motor back in this weekend and it runs perfect. Well.....at least I now know how to pull the motor and put it back. All that was wrong was the crankcase breather tube was blocked. Thanks for all the help.
