Default CC Turf II

I keep getting fuel in the crankcase even after changing fuel pump. Could it be the rings?

Grandpa's DS with the FE290 does this too! Oil never seems overfull, just really creamy and thin and reeks of gas. I change it more often to compensate, but its getting pretty old doing that. Just changed it last week to be ready for camp this spring. His cart has a new fuel pump also, and still gets fuel in the crankcase. Some say it can be the carb dumping too much fuel, this is my next item to check. I'd love to hear some opinions as I'm in the same boat.

Check the intake, does the hose and filter box have fuel in them? If so, flooding. If the needle on the float is good, you might find it floods on shutdown, which can be vent line blocked that goes on the carb.

Well, I disassembled and cleaned the carb today. Things looked OK, little nastiness in the float bowl but nothing abnormal. Main bore was coated in a thin film of black filth. I found the vent line clear, but gave it a good healthy shot of 100 psi air to be sure.

Outside of it was filthy, but it cleaned up really well in and out. I guess time will tell if this solves the gas in oil problem.
