You can do it cheaper than the kits a clone is about $300 for the engine, depending on if you can make a mount and fabricate things yourself. You often need a clutch adapter they are about $50. But the kits are much faster to install and I'm not kidding. You also have to do the cables/controls, exhaust, some you need to change the airbox I put a car airbox on mine.

I just did the clone swap from vegas carts, I used my stock clutch and bought the engine and kit for around $950.00, went in easy and has more performance than I expected, had to install a muffler because the exhaust was too loud, got a cub cadet muffler off amazon with a side inlet and mounted it sideways with brackets off engine cradle, kind of sounds like I have a V8 with turbo mufflers, I really like it, it will go as slow as you want yet when you get on it it will snap your neck and that is with oversize tires.
