2003 DS would not start after running.

I just bought a 2003 DS. My son and I decided to take for it a test ride on some trails at our campground. We drove the cart around for about 45 min to an hour. We stopped the cart to look at something, and when we got back in it would not start. There was no response when we pressed the accelerator. After about 10 minutes of just sitting there it fired up, we drove it a few feet stopped and it would not fire up again. We sat some more fired it up and took it home. At one point when trying to fire back up it gave a little hum like it was going to start but it did not.

Any help in resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like maybe a battery problem or soleniod dropping out......................

Thanks for the response shadowman. I was thinking battery too! I guess that would be the first thing to do in the process of elimination. It looks like it may be the original. I will post back after this weekend to see if that was the problem.

If U just bought this , take it back to the seller and demo the problem.
I'm guessing if this happened on it's first outing then it was doing it before !

Very true and point taken. I picked up the cart for a great price and it is in exceptional shape. If it is a minor problem, which I think it is. It would not be worth the hassle to take it back.

it does not even turn over,
or it turns over but won't start ?

The day I bought the cart it seemed fine but I only drove it around for about 5 minutes.
When we brought it out to the camp ground we drove it around the trails for about an hour.
During the hour test drive it ran beautiful without a hiccup, when the motor came to a complete stop it would not fire back up, no turning over, absolutely nothing when the gas pedal was pressed. After it sat fro a while it fired right up.

May be a fun one to troubleshoot it is probably heat related and will act fine until whatever piece gets hot and opens up. You will probably try it again when cool and it will act just fine. Good luck I am sure someone here has ran into this and can styreer you in the right direcrtion I would start by checking all your grounds and power to starter. Not a gasser so don't know past that.

OK so when this happens , do U hear the solinoud click.
It is in the electrical black box (one screw dead center), take the seat off so U can hear it .
