Do I make new starter /generator wires or buy them?
Hello, I have been in the process of repairing all my wiring. I live in a small town and can't find a lot of the correct stuff .I looked around to see if I could find the wires for sale on eBay, but didn't see them. I am not sure of the Gauge. I couldn't find any at the local hardware store. It is for my 81 2 cycle. The closest thing I see around is the red battery cable wires, which seems a bit more thicker. Thanks for any help.

I'd shout out to Scottyb and see what he has. Or any of the other site sponsors.

HI fingerpicker, I made my own wires for my cart, I used e-bay for bulk wire and connectors, you don't have to use red, and black colors, I used blue and black. I'll go and see if I can find what I got, and I'll post a link on my next message

Re: Do I make new starter /generator wires or buy them?
the 1st lint is for the wire
http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=...lectronics_151 then this link is to a guy that has the connector you need, when I got mine I got 6-1/4", and 10-5/16" just to make sure I had enough for the job.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/370599906940...84.m1423.l2649 I hope this help you, when you connect the wire make sure to crimp the wire connector on then solder it on, I used a small torch to heat and then put the solder to it.. |

also I used
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-2-ADHESIVE...008897&vxp=mtr just to make sure no water gets in, make sure to get the ADHESIVE LINED it will make a water tight seal.. this guy sells it by the foot for $1.85 or 20 feet for $15.00 (free shipping) I got the 20 feet I find I'm all ways needing it for some thing.. |
