VRX460 Engine Torque Specs
1 - Head Bolts -- 25 ft lbs or 300 inch lbs
2 - Side Cover Bolts -- 17 ft lbs or 204 inch lbs 3 - flywheel Nut -- 83 ft lbs 4 - Rocker Arm Mount Studs or Bolts -- 17 ft lbs or 204 inch lbs 5 - Rocker Adjuster Jam Nut -- 7 ft lbs or 84 inch lbs 6 - Oil Drain Plug -- 17 ft lbs. or 204 inch lbs 7 - Vegas Carts Con Rod -- 10 ft lbs, next 12 ft lbs, next 15 ft lbs or 120 inch lbs, next 144 inch lbs, 180 inch lbs [ VC site text] Valves Adjustment Original Valves [cold engine] .003 - exhaust ---- .002 - intake As an engine builder I would suggest using an inch pound torque wrench on the lower numbers because it would be more accurate and a ft lb wrench for the crankshaft nut. Always oil the threads [motor oil] of anything you want to torque. Torquing a dry thread [bolt or nut] will lead to under tightening. |
