What is the major differance between the DCS and series cart. (besides the run tow switch) why cant other parts like controller interchange?

DCS is a shunt wound motor aka regen and also separately excited (sepex)
Series = series wound motor

Unique controllers and control systems for each motor.

Seams like they had more problems with the DCS (too bad for me) they sure did not keep the design very long. I take it the DCS is more limited on its capabilities, and cost more to upgrade it seams.

The DCS or Drive Control System was EZGO's first generation of regenerative motor systems. Only 1996-2000. Temperamental and has a tendency to toast controllers.

The upgrade path I would suggest would be pretty expensive.
1. Get the DCS running.
2. Sell it.
3. Buy a fleet/series or PDS based on application.

Now that you have the right cart let the real spending begin!
