Re: Slow! How do I make my club car Gasser go really slow.
Thanks for the update first cart, So many times we offer advice only to have the poster take it and never return. It also helps when others come here and actually use the search option and your post answers their question.
You mentioned "accidently wired to ground"? So hope neg light side is now wired to neg battery now correct? Mitch |

Re: Slow! How do I make my club car Gasser go really slow.
While investigating the reversed wires on the head lights I found that the whole body of the light is grounded by the negative wire. I just decided to let the light ground it's self through the frame. I checked the mounting point to negative battery terminal with an ohm meeter and it was a good ground. That way only one wire was run and then branched to feed the head lights. It really helped having a good ground as my cut and splice had to be inside the cup on the back of the light. There was none too much wire to spare at that point so it worked out well.
I took the C.C. out for a spin today and it ran really well. It again performed well going slow. There was a touch(like a second or two) of belt squeal when starting out but I am assuming that is normal. Before the cart was so head strong the motor clutch was already working an instant after the motor started. What do you guys think? Is it an issue or fairly normal. The belt does not appear worn. Thanks for the comments. I appreciate it! |

When you say belt squeal, You might be hearing the starter belt at start up. Check the tension on it and tighten if needed. Have you checked for grease fitting on the clutch?

I'm sure it is the drive belt but I will check the starter belt just for good measure. I'll look for a grease fitting.....although greasing a clutch makes me think of muffler bearings....
Thanks! |

I would think your muffler bearings are fine,
Some clutches have zirk fittings on them as they do move and wear, others have dry parts. Only a shot or two will do if needed. |
