Default when did yamaha stop installing brake shoes?

I just did a brake job on a 2000 G19E. I have heard that yamaha went to wet brakes at some point, and there is no way to adjust wet brakes.

What year did they stop with the shoes and drums?

Also is it true there is no way to adjust brakes if you gave a wet brake set up?

2007 (YDR-Drive)-2014. The only brake adjust is at the pedal. Really easy & always brakes evenly. Went back to Dana/Schaffer (with regular brakes) in 2015.

Thanks cg!

Hey cg, while you are here, what is the value of that square looking diode that some of the yamahas ( i think g19 maybe?) have on the passenger side by the solenoid?

Once i couldn't find a replacement, so i tried adiode i use for solenoids, just bent the wires and stuck it in the holder, and its still working

No diodes from Yamaha on G19. The "little black boxes" as found on G8e & G9e (part # 3WP-81980-00-00)? I dont know their spec, i just keep the real ones in stock. The real ones from yamaha retail for less than $5 i think. I suppose if you are using solenoid "blocking diodes" and they are working.....
